'[OT]: Russell: Get Well Soon'

Hey, our random reporter Russell McMahon was recently sick enough to have
gone to hospital and may be in for more of the same.

I have the decided feeling that he is pushing himself way too hard. Staying
up late having religious arguments with me for example.

Take a sec and flood his mailbox with admonitions to rest so that his
account explodes and he can't post for a while.

BTW, I nominate Russell for the Hall of Fame
http://www.piclist.com/support just based on the neat [OT]: and [EE]: stuff
he has posted for years now. Any seconds?

P.S. Sorry if you didn't want everyone to know Russell, O.F.W. You are too
valuable for us to allow you to mess yourself up.

Seconded. Add that guy STAT! Russell is personally responsible for
about 40% of the links in my bookmarks list. All saved for numerous
future uses and rainy days of broswing!

Thirded. It's his fault I have no social life because of all the
interesting things he goes on about and links to.

Wish someone would start him off on football/soccer so I'd have
something to talk about in the pub :)

Cheers,

Tim.

I completely concur.  I don't personally know Russell at all, but if it
wasn't for his courteous and useful replies to my first postings, I
might not have continued on with the PIClist and learned so damn much.

Thanks again Russell and get better soon.

Cheers

Hopefully, he's sitting in bed, hacking the medical equipment :)

Thanks for the various kind thoughts and wishes for good health on list and
off..
Flattery will get you somewhere :-)
My first clue that James had put something on list was a phone call this
morning from Jinx, inquiring after my health.
(I'll have to remember not to let James know until after I have died next
time).

Event was not, probably/hopefully a major one in the order of things. Just a
sudden unpleasant painful fairly short term very interesting (even more so
after the event) blip with the suggestion that something unknown may still
be wrong. Nothing, apart from the immediate problem, that could be seen on a
CT scan, so that's encouraging. I'll be seeing a specialist a week from now
but there's every chance that all is 100% OK. I'll let you know the outcome
one way or the other.

Meantime, it didn't slow my posting down too much. I really need to be
cutting down quite a lot on the time I spend online anyway, which should be
no surprise to anyone :-)

Glad to hear it - just take it easy until they track it down, at least...

Well my sister-in-law is one of only two female scottish consultant neurosurgeons in the World, so if you can
get to Edinburgh I can get you a deal!  :-)

Indeed - no noticeable slow-down whatsoever...

Yes indeed, and I know the feeling - I could count "reading and replying to PIClist" as a full-time job.
Shame the salary is so poor  :-)

I spent two and a half weeks in hospital 18 months ago (over Christmas and New Year - no fun *at all*!) and
the major problem was being offline (not the medical problem, that was cellulitis :-).  I took my laptop with
me and managed to persuade one ward-sister to let me connect it to their fax-machine's phone line (always a
good thing to look out for) and do mail-grabs at night when there were no admin staff about.  But then I moved
wards and lost the facility... it's like being in prison (I should imagine) and I don't recommend it!

Anyway, get well soon and keep us up to date on your progress, please?

Cheers,
