'[OT]: RS-232 to WWW Browser ...'

I would like to interface a serial device with a Web browser. I'm familiar
with interfacing RS-232/422/485 with microcontrolers and PCs but I haven't
got a clue as how I could send the received/interpreted text strings to a
browser ... Has anyone used OLE or otherways to enter strings in the URL
textbox of IE5 ? I've used OLE before with Office97 to enter stuff directly
into an Excel sheet or control a PowerPoint presentation, could the same
thing be done with Internet Explorer or Netscape ?
