>(returning from the dead when he figures out how to import Eudora mail into

When I did this back in '97 both programs were based on standard
RFC-822 text-only mail files.  Each adds their own "index" which
contains the info about read/unread, priority, tags and so forth.

So if the newer versions haven't changed the way they do things,
you can just copy your Eudora .mbx file to where your Netscape
mail files are kept (change the extension if appropriate) and
when you open Netscape it will build its own index and
show you the mail!

I also found some "converters" out there on the 'net back
then, I think they were for the addressbook, though.

I'm running Mozilla for this account now (only a few problems... ;-) ),
and it imports eudora without a problem.  Very slick.

Thanks for the heads up.  I've looked at the files and the format is
fairly straightforward.  I'd have to look at the RFC, it sounds interesting.

Great! I'm glad it worked.  By the way the RFC's always look
more interesting than they actually are.  :)

Hmmm, this is interesting.  I just went to
in order to verify the address to tell you about if you really
wanted to take a look.  And there is an announcement at the
top of the screen, to wit, good old RFC822 has just been replaced
after all these years, by RFC2822.  There goes the neighborhood.
I hope they say in there that html is not e-mail :)
