'[OT]: Go Ahead .. Criticise me'

I am currently trying to improve the effectiveness of our web site.
The site is about 80% complete (some prices to publish, products to add etc)

   http://www.orbitcoms.com

I know the products are great and we certainly will be looking forward to
working with our customers to help them with solutions to their RF Data
problems but I need to know how to attract web traffic and present to them
all the great aspects of our products. I am not sure if what I have done to
the site accomplishes this.

If any of you can spare a minute, would you mind taking a minute to
scrutinize it (please try to look at it through the eyes of a person with or
without RF experience that desperately needs a reliable solution to a
particular problem), then rip it to bits and let me have it, contact me and
tell me all that you find hard to understand, or whatever bugs you about it,
or if you have ideas to improve it (or on the off chance you like it... what
do you like about it).

I tried to express that if people have a specific requirement that we can
develop a custom solution for them but I don't know if I have made this
clear enough.

I am asking you guys because I notice you are great thinkers and mostly seem
very eager to help each other. I appreciate this. Thank you

Regards

David,

ohh.. that is serious

Is the site not accessible to you at all, what happens when you try to
access it?

It should be viewable in IE and Netscape . What browser are you using ?

when i try the site i get :

This is the placeholder for domain orbitcoms.com. If you see this page
after uploading site content you probably have not
                                 replaced the index.html file.

This page has been automatically generated by Plesk
Server Administrator.

Nothing at all. I think you have a DNS problem.

Tried it (with lynx) and got:

"This is the placeholder for domain orbitcoms.com. If you see this page
after uploading site content you probably have not replaced the
index.html file.

This page has been automatically generated by Plesk Server

DNS may take time to propagate after it's fixed.  I've got the
site displaying here.  Without much time to explore, I'd say
you seem to have your products and services easy to find.  There
are a lot of pages that come up blank (e.g., FAQ) but that
may just be part of the remaining 20%.

What you might be interested in knowing is that using Netscape 4.73
in Win98, your comany logo does not display.  If I right click
and say "show image" I can see it fine.  But it still won't
display on the home page (or any other page for that matter).  FYI.

Barry

The same thing happens with my Netscape 4.76, but not if I use IE 5.00 - no
logo in the upper left, just a placeholder.  If I do view image, there it
is, but I can't get it on the main page.  Maybe it has something to do with
the 'lowsrc' parameter in the 'img' tag.
