Hello,

I am building a hydrophone array for use on an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) that is being constructed by enginnering students at UVic (Canada).  This AUV will competite in the 5th annual AUVSI competition.  We would like to use a DSP chip to sample the signals detected by the hydrophones.  We need to detect 'pingers' at 20kHz, 30kHz, and 40kHz.  Can anyone recommend a FLASH based DSP chip and development environment?  Price is an issue and a C development environment would be prefered (but assembly would work).

Thanks,
Donovan

Have you looked at the Motorola DSP56F800 series?

Hello,

The DSP56F800 is perfect except for the high cost of the development kit
($500 CAN). Do you know where I can purchase a programmer for this chip?

Regards,

Hi, Donovan,

> What programmer or you using for the Alesis series of DSP chips?

I use a simple home brew interface with PonyProg.

It's all described on the web page.
