I occasionally autocross my '98 3.8l V6 Mustang.  Note the conspicuous
absence of a big-displacement V8 (grin)...  Though my weapon of choice for
this would actually be a much, MUCH smaller 500cc formula car (F500).
I've decided to take this summer off to concentrate on other things, but
next year I hope to be back in with new tires, a good 4-point harness and
some other minor improvements.

Just to prove that things eventually do come back around on topic, it was
actually this car that was responsible for me getting out my PIC stuff and
starting to learn the instruction set, etc.  I plan to (eventually) use
several PICs in the car - a couple of 8-pin 12Cxxx for sequencing the rear
turn signals (like the old Shelbys/Cougars), one to slowly dim the
interior lights after I get out and close the door (like my wife's minivan
does), and eventually one to log inputs from a 2-axis accelerometer while
autocrossing, so I can see how I'm driving and hopefully make
improvements.  If only more PICs would run from an automotive 12VDC
supply...

The most exciting phrase to hear in science, the one that heralds new
discoveries, is not "Eureka!" (I found it!) but "That's funny ..."
