Cursor Controls optical trackerball
http://www.electronicstalk.com/news/mmk/mmk112.html

A new patented optical trackerball device that will operate
fully immersed in liquid is now available from Micromark C
and CD. The device from Cursor Controls has been
developed in response to specific demands from the
industrial, military and marine markets and will not only
work underwater but also with coffee, cola and even beer...

Sounds really useful.  I know the more beer I drink, the more erratic my
mouse gets.  Don't know why.  8-)

What a funny name is "mouse". If someone used to drink
beer with some "pretty mouse" the message could be
rephrased as:

"Sounds really useful.  I know the more beer I drink, the
more _erotic_ my mouse gets.  Don't know why.  8-)"

Mike, risking to be kicked off the List.

I see the idea was put on that page by a James Newton :))

However I would have thought that the type of knob used on some laptop
keyboards for the mouse function would be the starting point. Mounted into a
suitable silicon mound that one could cup in ones' hand while the thumb
played with the "mouse" .....
