In the context of the original post, I will stand by the assertion that
computatational methods are a viable solution to the determination of static
pressure port locations for RADIO CONTROL aircraft. In order of (my)
preference, having participated in all 3 (for various non-radio control
projects):

1.) Wind tunnel test (or flight) data for the same (or a very similar)
configuration
2.) Computational techniques, validated by comparing results with
experimental data for known configurations
3.) Renting wind tunnel time, having a test model built with proper mounting
hardware and instrumented with pressure taps, and postprocessing the
resulting data
