If you get written up at http://slashdot.org you get a sudden surge of
visitors - in the last 6 minutes my site has had 1000 hits. :-(

Sometimes called "the slashdot effect" it can be a lot like a distributed
denial of service attack(though friendly).

Gee... It says right there in black and white that [many] broken
