No, no. This is meant to be a non sequitur co-operative thread, not a place
to speak truth :-)

But, probably yes, Fortunately the one they found entirely by accident was
mouse related, turning usually innocuous mousepox  into a 100% fatal mouse
disease by adding a single human gene that expresses Interleukin-4. IL4 is
benign in humans - it helps against disease and allergies. They haven't
discovered an equivalent single gene transform applicable to a human disease
yet (or not that we've been told).

I thought the lowest place on earth was the Dead Sea in Israel?

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something
completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete
fools.

Correct!
You win the prize (even though it's probably only the prize of satisfied
curiosity :-)

Note I said "... was once named ...". The name has changed several times.
The Dead Sea was, in Biblical times, known as "Asphaltitas". Whence comes
our word Asphalt, quite probably in use in a road near you. . The 'slime
pits" mentioned in the Old Testament which were a trap for the unwary were
in fact asphalt / thermal areas. The destruction of Sodom is thought to have
been effected by volcanic upheaval and subsidence. Precise location unknown
for sure but some believe it is at the bottom of the southern end of the
present lake.
