'[OT]: A good schematic software package?'

I'm looking for a good schematic software design
package... It doesn't have to do simulation, but
it does have to support all of the "standard"
chips (at least the ones I use regularly, MAX232,
LM360, LM7805, PIC16F84, PIC16F877, 74HCT174,
ADC0831, 4051, etc).  I *really* like the way
CircuitMaker works, but it doesn't cover everything
I want to do (Or at least if it does, I haven't
found it).  I'd prefer something FREE or inexpensive,
but that's not absolutely necessary.  The ability
to easily import into a PCB software package is
also a big PLUS (any recommendations on this?)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The link below has links to  "38"  PCB CAD/CAM
software packages.

My vote goes to "Proteus"

Hi,

You can use the free Orcad eCapture version 9.1 or 9.2 from SpinCircuit.
This require a login over the Internet to their server each time that the
program starts, but, it is for free and you can get through this service
all the parts (though active parts download).

See:

http://www.activeparts.com

and download from:

Hello Robert,

Look for Orcad 9.2 there is a student version that you can get for free.

It has a limit of 30 components or so, if you want to save your project.

It will be possible to use the standard libs of orcad
The programm excists of Schematics PCB and Simulation.

Try Bartels Autoengineer http://www.bartels.de
or EAGLE Layout Editor http://www.cadsoft.de

Both offer free versions of their software for Windows and Linux.
... at least for non-commercial use.
