Does anyone know anything like that program that print .DOC files in 4 pages per sheet of paper, but to be used in PDF files? I have a lot of text PDFs and I'd love to print it in a smaller size...

To print 2-up, 4-up, n-up pages is a function
of your printer driver and your printer capability.
However, if you have Acrobat Distiller, you can
use it's printer driver to output n-up page.

Fineprint works for any document type by appearing to the OS as a virtual printer.
I use 2up double sided printing and booklet mode the most. You can queue up multiple documents, then
print the whole lot as one booklet.

Some postscript printer drivers will do 2-up, 4-up, 9-up, 16-up.
So, print to a file using that printer driver.
Then, take the resulting .ps and create a new .pdf from it (distiller or
ghostscript equivalent).
Then print the new .pdf normally.
A bit complicated, but the price is right if you use ghostscript.

Some of the printer setups allow you to do this - beond that I can't really
help (i.e. print/setup printer/advanced/.... etc. That's how I do it here.

Do you use printtool to do your printer configuration? I do. I just bought an
NEC 1400 and installed it 30 minutes ago. Linux drivers were on the CD (of
course). I went into PrintTool and had the NEC 1400 added in a few seconds. I
then saw this question and tried to print 4 PDF pages per one 8.5x11
page. Simple - in the filter configuration in printtool there is a radio button
selection for 8,4,2, or 1 pages/page. I click on 4, loaded Acrobat 4.0 and
printed a test. It worked!

Too much complicated!!! Fineprint is excelent!!! The price that isn't right. Why 39.90? 19.90 would be a well-suited price to it. Anyway, It will be registered - I've too much use for it, it saves me time, paper and space.
