I have played with oxy-hyd too, lots of fun. The
scariest problem is if your generator stops producing
and the flame runs back up the tube as the pressure
decreases, i'm not sure that bronze wool will be a good
enough flashback arrestor at all as the mixture has
its own oxygen and will continue burning even when
meshed. And probably ignite the lube in the bronze wool.
Try an inline pressure relief valve (ball and spring
type) a couple of feet down the hose. This acts as a
one way valve and in the event of pressure loss the ball
should close the orifice before the second or two it takes
for the flame to travel back to that part of the hose.
You are using clear hose? :o)

I've got a commercial arrestor on order to go after the
electrolysis cell. (BTW, it will be controlled with
a PIC..) .. this will just be for cheap insurance.

Any idea where to get one of those cheap? I could always
make one. I need something like that to protect the
pressure sensor diaphragm from rupturing when the pop
happens. A few PSI operating and 15psi to open is about
right.

Any auto supplier, they use them in just about all FI
cars as "one way air valves", about 5/16 ID hose push on
fittings but you can add hose clamps externally.

Ooops. When the "pop" happens it will blow the absolute
crap out of your container and fittings. What volume of
gas will you have in the container where it can pop?
Don't underestimate the explosive power of even a small
quantity of gas, a fist sized volume will blow the sides
out of a heavy gauge steel welded container.
I'd love to see your design. Before you blow it up. :o)
