Does anyone know how to make a printout of directory info from within Windows? With WinXP, you can add parameters to Windows Explorer such as program version, revision number and so on. Is there a way to make these parameters show up in a Dos box "dir" command? Is there any easy way to print this out, preferably from within windows? Thanks! I don't know an easy way. The monkey wrenching way I use is to open the folder I want to print in Windows, Open a DOS prompt, type C: which automagically recognizes the current folder for some reason (avoiding the tedious typing to translated long folder names in DOS) then type DIR >> MYLIST.TXT. Then I edit mylist.txt to have the info I want. I've seen a file manager that would do it more or less, can't recall which one but I tried after downloading from tucows. It had a built in function to print the directory. You can click on the Start button, then click on Run and type in command.com to get a DOS window open in XP, NT, 2000, 95, 98, and ME. Right-Click the highlighted list 4. Select "Send To Clipboard as Name" 5. Except the cited option doesn't exist in Win 95/98. Is it an XP enhancement or did you happen to load an explorer 'enhancer' and forgot about it? Under windows NT, 2k, and XP run CMD for the command prompt.
