Yes that is not a mistake I have suggested a new tag AVR for the following reasons.

1. The PIC list is very active with fast response times.
2. AVR is another micro chip that some PIC programmers use as well.
3. I see from the circuit cellar compertition that several within the PICLIST group are entering the competition.
4. I DO NOT WANT TO START A FLAME WAR - just an alternative to the general discussions within the PICLIST.

There's already an avr tag.  At least there was in the sigs of one of
the messages I saw go across the list.

speaking of which, how long has it been taking to get the programing
kit?  i applied about 2 weeks ago and haven't gotten it yet.  and yes, i
agree, a new tag would be a good idea, and if enough list users use any
other micro a tag for that as well, and/or a tag for any non-pic
miscellaneous processor, like the 68hc11 etc. (which i'll probably
eventually be playing with).
