It might help if you mentioned why you want to contact them.

Well, me for one. Missouri to be exact, unless I am at our Houston office.

I don't usually send email addresses to the PIClist in plaintext to limit Spam - you know the drill.

I don't get this "please send an email address" type request.
I've seen this before. Why can't people just read the address from the
senders address field?
What am I missing?

Some (how many, I wonder?) will reject e-mail coming to a particular
e-mail address from anything BUT the MIT piclist (or whatever mailing
list that address is set up for).

That way, they get all their Piclist mail, but none of the spam.  I
expect this is mainly done by people who have their own mail server
set up.

Obfuscate and bebother the Spammers indeed.

Hey, you are almost a neighbor, at least in the sparsely populated Midwest.  Where exactly in Iowa?  I am in Columbia, MO.

Sparsely, of course, applies to Electrical Engineers especially.  There are, to my knowledge five electronics engineers in my city, and one of them is retired.

Ames.  Iowa State University, actually, at least for another few
months until the
grant that supports my job evaporates.

After that, anybody's guess.  There is an ISU Engineering Job Fair
later today, and
I'm going to make the rounds with the resume and references.  Since my wife is
stuck at school (Vet Med) untill 2006, I have just enough time to need
to find a job,
but a little too much to find one too far from home.  :-(

If anyone else in the Midwest, specifically central Iowa, has had the job search
woes I have, it's no doubt the population of EE's here is low.  Of
course, it's a
tight market, and I don't have that much experience (yet), but I'm not even
finding very many jobs to apply for!

Cy's Roost is still here, so I would assume he's up there somewhere.  ;-)

ISU is an interesting place to be these days, since the VEISHA riots last
year.  Everyone's a little spiky about that, still, and really upset that
VEISHA was cancelled for this year.

I'm a graduate of Iowa State.  Way back in 1974.  I couldn't find any
jobs in Iowa then either, so I moved to Omaha and worked there for 15
years or so.  I finally moved to Silicon Valley.

Interestingly enough, just today I got a copy of Jack Ganssle's Embedded Muse
(a good resource, for those not receiving it) with a blurb in it about
a company in
Ames looking for 2 engineers.

Quite interesting.
