That Xport looks way cool. Unfortunately I know nothing about FPGAs, but I'm
tempted to get an Xport anyway and hopefully learn as I go.
What sorts of things are possible with a 150,000 gate FPGA?

I'm just curious as to why they need that much processing power just to
attach to a GameBoy...
Perhaps the FPGA is used for I/O and RAM? I don't know.

Indeed! How about emulating a picMicro :-)
A couple of cool things about this are the price, the ARM7 processor
(one of my favorites), the fact that eCOS has been ported, and the LCD
display capability. Not to mention the availability of development
tools. And did I mention price? You would be hard pressed to find
another ARM7 development platform for $250 (Xport + gameboy advance)
with the same features.
