'[OT:] PICLIST question'

Hi,

Could someone give me a quick PICLIST sanity check?

The last PICLIST message I received today was time-stamped: Tue 1/27/2004
4:11 PM

Have there been many messages posted after 4:11 PM today or is traffic
really slow?

I think my ISP's e-mail server went down and I missed some messages.

Thanks very much,

Ken Pergola

Usually if the ISP's email server goes down, messages are held before it gets
to your ISP. Once they get up and running, the backed up messages should
follow. This is not true if the messages were somehow deleted when they were
on your ISP's server waiting for you and they lost the hard drive, but not
very likely.

Hi Rick,

Thanks for responding and for your explanation -- I appreciate that. I'm
writing this from the PICLIST web site.

My Vulcan mind meld connection with the PICLIST has been severed for now.

Something is wrong, since I'm no longer receiving PICLIST messages. I have
a 'help' e-mail out to my ISP -- I could not log onto their web site for a
while there. I can send myself test e-mails ok, but no PICLIST messages are
coming through.

Yikes, just think about the knowledge I'm losing!

I'll call my ISP tomorrow.

Thanks again for your help Rick!

Best regards,

Ken Pergola

Just a reminder to all users, if you're having problems with the list
and wish to check on your status, send "query PICList" (without the
quotes) in the body of a message to spamBeGonelistservspamKILLspammitvma.mit.edu, and it will
return your status in an email.

Thanks Rick,

I'm just getting all the PICLIST messages now (from 4PM today 'til
present). I'm all set now.

I archive them on my local computer so I'm glad I did not lose them.

Thanks,
