Further to discussions a while ago regarding getting a USB VID - I Just spotted this

http://www.microchip.com/stellent/idcplg?IdcService=SS_GET_PAGE&nodeId=1824&appnote=en024259

USB-IF, Inc. has licensed USB Vendor ID No. 0x04D8 (?VID?) to Microchip Technology Inc.
(?Microchip?). If you agree to the following terms, Microchip may in its sole discretion sublicense
the VID, and assign a Product ID number (?PID?), to you free of charge (?Sublicense?).

That's what I thought!  As a matter of interest, did you have many customers for it?

Indeed, and I seem to remember you weren't charging much anyway, so there may still be a reason to buy in ID
from you.

Now they're selling network components, it's a shame they won't do the same for MAC addresses - at the seminar
in England a few months back they stated categorically that they aren't going to do that.
