'[EE] Ultrabright Bi-polar LED's'

I'm still searching for the perfect LED, and I need it to satisfy the
following:

* Must be 5mm package
* Must be dual colour
* Must have only two leads (therefore the LED's must face in different
directions internally)
* The forward voltage must be less than 3 V
* I should get decent brightness out of 20 mA

The closes I've gotten so far is the following:

Now the only little nagging problem about this LED is that it's Red and
Green, and so about 1 in 15 people in the world will have difficulty
distinguishing the two colours. This isn't a major major major problem,
but if possible I'd like to find different colours.

At the moment I'm going to settle with this particular LED. If anyone
knows of a similar LED but with different colours, I'd appreciate it.

Have you checked out the LED manufacturers?

One I use is Kingbright:

There's a 2 lead red yellow LED which should be reasonably distinct.

It will require a lot more work for you to find find exactly what you
need, so you should make friends with a few local distributers and
have them make suggestions for you.  You'll still need to do a lot of
legwork, but I'm sure you can find other parts that are suitable.
