Hi,

I just purchase a used 465M osciloscope but it comes without the manual.
Does anyone have this manual or a link with help about this scope ?
       Another question about this scope:
When I measure a positive signal in channel 1 or 2, DC coupled, the green line
goes under GND, not above. It seems it´s inverted.
Is this normal for this scope ?

Thanks for any help.

Rubens

Hi,
For a manual, check on http://bama.sbc.edu/tektroni.htm
the Boat Anchor Manual Archive. it has both 465B and 465M and a lot of other stuff besides. There is however a limit on concurrent downloads, so be patient: its free. To view the manual you might need a Djvu viewer (I got DJvu solo, which works fine).

You probably have the 'invert' switch on. try toggling it.

Good luck,
Christian

No.  Do you have the Invert button (lower left hand corner) pressed? (There
are a LOT of buttons on this scope)

Hi Christian and McD,

        Thanks for the link.
        About the invert option:
No, it´s not pressed. And this control only works for channel 2. If I press it, then I have the correct line, only in channel 2.

It is if the INVERT button is pressed.

Hmmm... if you find out what's wrong please tell us...
Maybe the vertical deflector is inverted???
Or you have a very low vertical position for CH.1. If you connect the probe to ground, is the trace in the center? maybe it's below the screen view (don't know if that's possible). Or your probe is weird?

Hi Cristian,

All it´s ok, only inverted. This scope comes from maintenance recently, so I supect the vertical deflector is inverted by mistake. May be it´s only change two wires. I just download the manuals and schematics and will study them.

thanks for help

it's entirely possible that someone else worked on it and switched the
vertical deflection wires on the crt, this is easy on many scopes.  it
could also be a more serious problem with the vertical amplifier.  is
the gain approximately correct?  you also might try cycling the invert
switch a few times in case it's dirty etc.  i suppose a dirty gain
switch might also possibly cause that effect.  have you checked this at
different vertical settings?
