I was wondering about repetitive reading of eeprom. My data sheet says garaunteed so many read/write cycles, but what about just read? What if I got stuck in a read loop.

Thanks

John

There is no wear mechanism on reads, only writes

My understanding has always been that read was not limited, only the write.
But I might be wrong there....

Life is NOT affected by reading EEPROM or FLASH memory, on-chip or off.

Some FRAM memories DO have only a limited number read cycles.

Which datasheet are you looking at?  The PIC datasheets (AFAIK) specify the
endurance in terms of erase/write cycles and don't mention read.
