'[EE] How to generate gerber data files'

Hi all,
I am using Eagle 4.03 to design pcbs. Factory request me gerber data
because the .sch and .brd files are not enough. May anyone be able to
tell me how to generate the gerber data files?

Augusto

Augusto,
What you need to do is to run your board through one of the cam processors. In the control panel, you will see a section for Cam Processors (or something similar, I don't have eagle on this computer). Look in there and I'm sure you need the one that says Gerber274 (or something similar). To generate the drill files, there should be an Excellon.cam. These are the ones I use to run our milling maching at school, it might be different for the factory you are dealing with.
There are also lots of tutorials online to help you along the way.

RTFM. In my 4.0 manual it is in chapter 9 "preparing the manufacturing
data".

Tarun,
Thank you for your help.
I did it selecting the output device GERBER_RS274X, then executing the
Process Job button, a Warning appears telling me more than 1 signal
layer is active. It is all to get the gerber data?
Regards,
Augusto

I'd venture a guess that you either have it installed in your Eagle
directory, or you could download it at the Cadsoft website. Might want
to check there.

That's basically what I said, except I tried to attach a script I use that
builds the ZIP file. The script comments contain a checklist that I go thru
religiously each time I make a PCB fab package in Eagle. Unfortunately the
list server said:

So I guess I can't attach a BAT file since the list server thinks we're all
idiots and execute any attachment we receive without applying any thought
first. Personally, I think anyone dumb enough to execute attachments
doesn't belong on the internet and deserves to have his files deleted, and
that none of this is business of the list server anyway.

If you have the software, then you should have the manual. Why don't
you have the manual?
It is downloadable as a PDF from http://www.cadsoftusa.com
