'[EE] Electra Autorouter for cheap'

Good day to all.

Just noticed a message in the Autotrax Mailing List - KOV software (the makers of Autotrax and DEX) has a sale for the 4-signal-layers version of the Electra Autorouter for US $305.  He normally charges $465 for it, which is still better than purchasing it from the Electra website.

Ilija's message says that Electra will work with any CAD package that supports its file formats.  The list on Electra's support page includes: Allegro (Cadence), OrCAD (Cadence), Pulsonix (WestDev), Boardstation (Mentor), PADS (Mentor), Ranger (Seetrax), CAD Design - (PCB Designer), Pantheon (Intercept), Target 3001 (IBFriedrich), CADint, PCB Designer - (CDS), Tsien (Boardmaker3), DipTrace (Novarm), PCAD (Altium), Vutrax (Computamation), Eagle  (Cadsoft), Protel (Altium), WinPCB (CSiEDA), Easy-PC (Number One), Proteus (Labcenter)

I know that there are a lot of Eagle fans here, thus the mention.

Electra supports my CAD package (CADint), so I'm off to purchase a copy.

Merry Christmas to all!

Whereas I'd like to have a better autorouter for Eagle, I won't touch  anything by this guy as he is deceptive...  On the forums, he will  block any message that indicates any issue with the Autotrax software,  so you get the impression that it's a great/stable product.  Pretty  much his attitude is that it's his forum so he can do anything he wants.

I don't quite see how you come to that conclusion, people including myself have mentioned faults with DeX and Autotrax (yes I'm a user).
It is true, new members are moderated, but to my knowledge there is only one entity who was blocked and that was a person working for a rival company who attempted to destabilise the forum.

In fact over the past weeks there have been posts on space bar switching not working, I've complained over PDF conversion not working properly and incorrect part builder option (now solved).

The main moderator is Bob Barr (Bob_xyz).

Just realised your post is slightly ambiguous, are you referring to Autotrax or Electra?

I have never been on the Electra forum.

My emails were blocked when they suggested any issues with the program  (Autotrax).  Had it out with this guy and he pretty much said it's his  forum so he'll do whatever he wants.

Very democratic indeed.

Democracy is an illusion pretty much anywhere. At the end of the day,
the sad truth is that the best way to succeed in anything is to be
selfish. Perhaps one or two examples of an idealistic organization are
exempt

Absolutely true.

The root of all evil and what in the end turns democracy into an illusion.

It's the number one kitchen and egg.

I don't understand. What "spirit" is associated with the winter break

Alcohol seemed popular when I last looked. But I suppose whatever gets
you jolly on.

I assume for many it's more-than-usual free time available than in
most of the year, so for many of us new projects will give much more
fun then alcohol does :)

By the way, if alcohol causes memory loss, what does alcohol cause?
