Hi! I've found ZIF sockets for PLCC chips, but they have "covers" that make them useless for something like an emulator pod. Is there a PLCC ZIF socket that is open topped like a regular PLCC socket, but has a "lever machanism" or some such to firmly grip the chip? Thanks! Bill -- Psst... Hey, you... Buddy... My old Motorola '05 emulator had a PLCC-44 socket in which you had to insert the chip upside down. Popping the chip was just a matter of pushing down on it with your fingers. Want a kitten? straycatblues.petfinder.org Yamaichi do some 'pop-up' sockets - I have one in front of me - partno IC120-0284 (28W), but not sure how well it would work with an emulator plug and footprint is completely different. What's wrong with using a decent quality normal PLCC socket ?
