Hi,
I've got a digital accelerometer and a digital compass (on a Android smart phone).
I'd like to play with it. What I'd like to simulate is a poor man's gyroscope, what
are the best algoritms to do this, given the 6 axis accelerometer+magnetometer DOF?

Thanks,
Mario

I have a Lowrance I-finder C (Color) with built in compass. When walking the compass is very good after being calibrated, But put the unit in a vehicle, and calibrate in the vehicle, and the compass may be off more than 30 degrees. We have not had issues with magnetic needle compasses in the vehicles. I guess what I'm saying, the electronic compass may not be accurate in a vehicle.
