I wouldn't get too worked up about it.  It's a small tracked 'bot using what
looks like pager motors for drive, with a tiny circuit on it's back.  Yes
it's small, but all the video clip shows it doing is climbing over some
coins, dosen't show any kind of intelligence.  In fact someone is poking it
with a pair of tweezers to make it stay on course!!

Hi Mike, I'm interested in this. I found a web site
a while back with a tiny 1cm cube bot, using a surface
mount PIC chip I believe. I saved a few pictures, but
lost the site address. Would be nice to hear how the
project was going. :o)

I should be able to convert it to a small (200k ?) RAM file if you've
got Real Player and really want to see it

Thanks Jinx, don't worry about the mpeg. I saw their
page and they are nowhere near as small as the 1cm cube
bot I have picture of.

And just think, being a gov't lab, they probably spent only
$10,000,000 of our $$$ tying wheels to a sugar cube that could
be guided by a large hand holding tweezers. Maybe automatic
coffee sweetener machine is the goal.

Here is overview of the program:

I've put it up here (183kB)

http://home.clear.net.nz/pages/joecolquitt/sandia.html

Luckily it's not a John Woo actioner and 70% of the frames
could be dispensed with. What's left is the best of it
