Guys, I have an application where I need a low current (5 or 6amp max) relay boards that is powered from ~12 - 15 volts DC (automotive, driven with transistor-level(or ttl/cmos) input, and has all the protection stuff build in. I'd like to have as many relays on the board as possible, but I'm thinking around 5-10 relays/board ballpark. Anyway, just wondering if anyone knew of a commercial product out there that met this or might know where to look. We manufacture something that may be helpful: it has 16 - Aromat JS1E-12 relays on the card, along with TPIC6595 power shift registers and a 12c508 that receives bit mapped relay data at 9600 baud. You can have the card with or without the drivers and / or the PIC. Its easy to talk to the relay driver shift registers with a 3 wire SPI protocol if you don't want to use the async serial input. The relay contacts are all un-committed. 8 relays have all 3 contacts (NO, NC, Arm) brought out to screw terminals, the other 8 relays have only 2 contacts brought out to screw terminals (NO, Arm). Each relay also has a LED beside it to show coil status. The power supply input is 12 Vac or 12-17 Vdc (either is fine). Physically, the card is 4.5" x 8.0" and is designed so that 2 cards can be stacked and still allow access to all terminals on the lower card. Gary, A few years ago I built 8 relay board for our dyno I used 8 car 32a removable bosch relays with 8 Opto couplers and pic. I may still have the schematic.
