Hi,

Has anyone worked with a micro controller light dimmer circuit?
I know that Plessey had those in their Power Controllers handbook, also UMC
had them too.

Thanks.

Microchip has an application note about doing one with a 12C508 I think.
Check it out, you may find it useful.

Hi,

My idea was to control lamp brightness using universal remotes.

Thanks.

You could construct an IR receiver/decoder that then sends codes
to an X10 system and have the X10 take care of all the actual
dimming stuff.

If X10 doesn't already have such a thing.

That depends on where in the world you are, here in Canada X10 is so cheap I
wouldn't even consider building something like this, unless the building of
it was the reason for doing it. TTYL
