Hi Wing,

first make sure your subject begins with one of the [PIC]: [EE]: [OT]:
flags. Otherwise the chance of answering your question is much lower.

You didn't mention which MPU you have in mind, there are many of RISC type
micros. If your micro is Microchip PIC...., then you needn't anything else
but the crystal and two capacitors to be connected to the OSC1 and OSC2
pins. Reffer to the datasheet section Special features -> oscilator
configuration for detailed info. Or ask more specific questions, stating
enough detail about your patricular problem.

Hello, what do you mean ? Do you want a transistor circuit or CMOS ?

I've attached a series resonant circuit from Elektor that I built and used
last year. It's fine at 10MHz and with the values shown is said to work up
to 30MHz. I tried it to 24MHz. The MOSFET is there as a buffer. Perhaps
others more knowledgable about crystal circuits would care to comment
on it or suggest a simpler circuit

I think he just wants to know how to use a XTAL osc on the PIC.

As mentioned before, the answers are in the data sheets. (Well at least the
start of the answers. We all know how frustrating xtal issues can be.)
