BlankI'm doing some work with a board, and I've come across one component
and I can't determine what it is.  It is a small metal can (~.25"diameter)
with four leads, and the following numbers are stamped on the can:

0772
96012-008-2100
59885-2891

A fair amount of googling has turned up nothing.  What is a good method or
source(s) of information for determining exactly what an unknown part is?

Thanks for any help!

Steve

How about you post a link to a photo of the device and perhaps the board
that it is in and tell use the function of the board. Probably we can
recognize it from that. The numbers look like proprietary "house numbers"
and maybe a date code (1996?).
