'[EE]: TTL to fiber to TTL'

Hi!

I need to send a TTL signal through an optic fibre (16 meters) and
convert it back again to TTL at the other end. I found a device capable
of doing so at a rate of 1Mbps, but I need at least 2Mbps.

Can you give me a hint where can I find such a device?

Thanks is advance,
Diego.

yeap, agilent (HP's semiconductor division) make high speed optic
transmitters and receivers :o)

Thanks, Kat, but I need a black box, input TTL / output fibre and viceversa,
not just a transmitter or receiver.

There is a lot of such devices for Ethernet and SONET/SDH, but seems to be none
for just TTL signals.

Cheers,
Diego.

Some of Agilent's products will almost certainly be "black boxes" as
required.
They have been amongst the leaders in this area from its start.
It will be well worth a look at their web site.

Have you looked at the SPDIF parts metioned earlier? I know Toshiba
makes some, and there should be others as well. However, I think Kat was
right, there will almost certainly be Agilent parts that take an optical
in and give TTL out.

Thank you all for your answers. I will search Agilent for those boxes.
Also the toshiba ones seems fine for my application.

Cheers,
Diego.
