Hi,
I have a project where I need to increase the output voltage swing of a
TDA2030 - pentawatt package ( whithout any bridge design ) and I need to
see the internal chip structure. ST datasheet haven't inside this
information. Everything goes fine except an output latch to V+ or V- when
the output is exceding 50Vpp.
Do you know another manufacturer/web site which have my requirement ?

Hi,
About 1994 we used the SGS-Thomson device TDA2030.
We had supply problems and when went up to the TDA2050.
I don't have the data sheets to hand but the voltage to the TDA2030 was
about 28volts max and the TDA2050 was about 48volts max.

Actually TDA2030 have 40V supply and TDA2030A have 44. The max otput power
is 35...40W. It's a fine chip, I've used in my medical projects ( builded
more than 100 ) and have no problem whith.
The question is the same. I need a datasheet with internal schematics.
Please mail me if you know one.

The ECG replacement parts catalogs show the equivalent of many TDA20XX
chips and their internal schematic.

I have had several very bad experiences with TDA2030 in the past, like
instability and high THD distortion. During this time I have discovered
that there are good make TDA2030s and bad make TDA2030s. The good makes
are significantly stabler and have lower THD than the other kind. Maybe
this is your problem.

Peter, I'm agree.
I had buy last year about 50 pieces of TDA2030 made by an unknown
producer. They had short circuits between input pins or input pins and
supply pins !
Never happened with ST ( Thomson ) products.
I was trying to improve the voltage swing of this amplifier by floating
the whole amplifier with a pair of high voltage complementary transistors.
The tehnique is well known, keeping amplifier supply at constant value
through a pair of zenner diodes from output to transistor bases, emiter
pins to amplifier supply pins and colectors to +/- high voltage pins, its
possible a voltage swing up to +/- high voltage values .
Also the input impedance is increased significantly.
It's works, but a latch occures after 55Vpp at output. And it must work up
to 100Vpp.
