Hi everybody!
Could anybody provide me an schematics, an Appl. Note or a link,of a Solid-state relay which could be used in a 120VDC-10 A application?I have in mind a SSR employing N-channel MOSFETs (IRF740), but I would liketo compare its performance with some other diagrams before really implementing it on the final design (not a commercial one...) Thanks so much in advance, Gustavo Aguayo

Okay, I'll bite: why the heck 120VDC @ 10amps?! :)

I'd start with a PV Optocoupler like the PVI5050 and just hook the
output to the gate and either the source or drain (as appropriate) of a
suitable power mosfet - that's pretty much it.

Could be dynamic braking for a 3 phase AC motor?  I've done that...rectify the 120VAC, use a large metal encased power resistor for current limit and apply across two legs of the motor to stop it.  I used relays, interlocked with the motor contactor (you dont wanna know what happens if you tie the DC while 480VAC is present)
