'[EE]: Searching for RF Transceiver modules to impl'

I have an application where two PICs are communicating each other via full-duplex RS-232 @19.2Kbaud. I would like to consider an RF interface for the this communication link. I am searching for relatively inexpensive modules (<$20 each for each transceiver module in <1000 quantities) that I can use to easily meet this goal. I have been looking on the web for such modules, but they all seem quite expensive. Bluetooth looks promising, but it doesn't seem like RS-232 can be implemented relatively easy. Can anybody recommend a manufacturer and website link? Thanks

Hi Neil,
At my company we have just developed a RF+PIC+EEprom module in a
52PLCC/BGA footprint ( 19mm X x19mm). It is a tranceiver, two channel on the
433MHz band designed for 20Kbps. PIC is a 16F877 and the EEprom is a
24LC256.
Spec Sheets will be available shortly and we expect to be sampling towards
the end of this month APRIL.
If this unit is of interest to you, let me know.
Best regards,
John

Neil, I have a list of about every small RF module I have run across, and/or
been mentioned on piclist:

Neil, not quite what you are after, but I found this and thought it
quite interesting - several projects with tiny RF devices
- Smart Dust [includes RF/IrDA links, etc]:
