Doesn't *everyone* have one of these plotters tucked away in the storage
chest?
I have the plotter , I have the software ( Eagle )..
Anyone know the actual marker pen type?
and secondly, and far more important .... a driver for the HP that lives
with Win2000..? ( win'98 will drive one, but I work on a Win2000 box )

?

I don't have one. For drivers, take a look at
http://www.draftingsolutions.nu/

Maybe that's a solution. Will cost $$$ though.

Here's what I used:

http://www.dickblick.com/zz207/06/products.asp?param=0&ig_id=1391

And I was wrong, it wasn't .5mm, it's .3mm.  God, how I love the Web!!
Haven't done this since 1995, but here's the exact thing I needeed, found
it in about a minute.

You don't need a driver!  Eagle has them buildt in and can send directly to
ports :-)

Check what protocol your plotter is if it's not listed...
I think it's HPGL or HPGL/2.

Good luck.

I find it hard to get good coverage...  I think a inkjet model would be
better there.

Groovey!

How "thin" are the penns body ?
My CalComp 2024 are a bit picky there.  Thoo thick penns are hard to shrink.
Much easier to buff up thinn ones :-)

I've got an HP7475A painstakingly modified to print PCB's with lumocolor
pens.  It sits at my feet when I am at my desk gathering dust, whilst I
send all my projects out to Advanced Circuits to get etched.  I used to
talk to it with HPGL/2.

Gathering dust occupy a lot of your time??

(sorry, couldn't resist - mental picture of encrusted motionless
engineer sitting at desk...)
