'[EE]: Modular enclosures'

I need to make up enclosures of various lengths and widths. I am looking
into modular enclosures.
Something that is a standard system, where you cut the sides to size and
clip or screw everything together.
Can be PVC or Alu.
I am waiting on a reply from the local Bopla rep for their Aluplan
system.
Any other manufacturers that you guys know of?

Quentin

I'm not familiar with the Aluplan system (and after going to the
website, I still know nothing about it) but have a look at
http://www.rtptrading.com.au. There are links to the parent companies
and you may be able to find someone similar closer to you.
They CNC cut, bend and glue flat plastic sheet into enclosures. I'm
just getting a prototype done by them at the moment. It's sort of 'L'
shaped in section with 2 stacked PCBs with D connectors,
switches, LEDs and wiring looms poking out in several different
directions. The finished item will be case of sliding the boards down
some grooves and snapping a cover in place.
Pricing is very reasonable.

Try Buckeye, I use their 'E' series.  They can provide custom lengths or you
can cut.

I have used Lansing enclosures in the past.
Nice looking units, modular, with customization available.
Take a look at http://www.lansing-enclosures.com/

You just hit the best available - BOPLA -, but you may look  for ODENWALD
another German manufacturer, very good selection too.

Hi,
I have used Lansing for a few projects. They are
aluminum extrusions and have a lot of mix and match
sizes. See the web site and call them for a catalog.
http://www.lansing-enclosures.com

Also have used Pac-Tec CML912-200. It is an all
plastic case (clam shell). The only thing I did'nt
like is the flimsy front and rear panels. I replaced
them with .09 in. aluminum. You can attach the PCB to
the panels with connectors or brackets and the PCB
with panels just slips into the case bottom. Install
the top and no screws are required to attach the pcb,
just the clam shell case.

I work a lot with material from Multibox in Germany. They have painted alu
sloped enclosures that can be cut to width, you just have to slide a front
panel in the provided slots, and screw on the sides.

How do you order from them? Do they have online shopping service and do they
sell small quantity?
Thanks !
