This comment is in not way directed to Olin for fear of getting James mad at
me.

If there are newbies (or others) that need help and feel the need to write to
me privately, I declare publicly that I would be honored and would welcome such
requests.  I think that such a personal request towards me would be a
compliment that my knowledge was worth asking.  Of course, no guarantees that I
would have the slightest clue what you where talking about :) :) :)

That is your perrogative.  However, I think it is wrong to send people
personal copies of PIC list messages unless you know they don't mind.  If
someone didn't respond to a message on the list, in the abscence of addition
information you must assume they chose not to respond.  Therefore sending
them a second message is just nagging.

I have to agree with this.  I can't imagine re-sending a message to
someone's personal e-mail address without explicit permission to do
so - which Mark just gave.  (and I've been tempted, when I know a
specific person knows the answer to my question!)

The list guidelines suggest waiting several days and if no answer is
received, sending a second message (to the list) asking why no one has
responded.

Sending private emails to list members without an invitation or some other
really good reason is harassment and will get one dropped from the list if
it is repeated AFTER a PRIVATE warning.

Again, please forward these issues to a list admin (like me
jamesnewtonspamKILLspampiclist.com) as they come up rather than complaining on the
list.
