I am trying to manually route power and gnd tracks on a pcb produced from a schematic using Eagle. All is fine if I follow the airwire routing from one pin to the next, but I want to change the sequence of the connections to better connect decoupling capacitors. Is there a way of doing this ? I've tried moving the tracks after following the route suggested by the program, but it then puts airwires back in. Any suggestions ? You delete any tracks you don't like, which reverts them to airwires. Then you manually route whatever connections you want. If you've connected them all, there will be no more airwires. Once you've manually routed the few that matter, just let the autorouter rip on the rest. This saves a *lot* of time. I've been quite impressed by the autorouter in Eagle, although you do have to take some time to understand how it works and tweak it to what you want done. > but I want to change the sequence of the connections The airwires merely show you the "shortest distance" between connected pins. Ignore them and route your connections however you want. You don't HAVE to "follow the airwires" - when using the route command/button, you can start at any airwire location, and route to any point on the same network (click twice to terminate the route.) Then you can use the rats-nest button to recompure new airwires, and it will notice that there's one less... (actually, you don't even have to route to the same network - you can stop in the middle of nowhere, which is occasionally useful because the new endpoint (and verticies) become possible endpoints for new "shortest airwires.") Thank you to everyone who replied, I've just completed the pcb layout. My mistake was not recalculating the ratsnest after manually routing a track. This is my first experience with Eagle, I'm still playing with the parameters to see what happens, but I agree with Olin the autorouter is very impressive.
