Hi all, AutoTRAX EDA was mentioned here on the PIClist back in October. According to a recent posting on the protel-user-resale list it is now offered for free. Checked the website and yep, there is message on the "purchase" page saying it is "totally free". I have not viewed the software yet, as it wont run on my Win 98 machine. Interesting to the hear comments from those that have tried it. The price is right at least. I used to use it and it is reasonable for a dos package. WOW! That's all I can say...wow! I run Win2k so I downloaded and installed it. You have to give away an email address to get your free registration key, but man, the features in this free package are UNREAL! I'd highly suggestion going and getting a copy of this. If you'd use the software it might be proper justification for going and getting Windows 2000; it'd be cheaper than going out and buying an equivalent electronics software package compatible with Windows 98. : ) The CD offer is free too. This is freaky. I'm still trying to figure out why they're doing this. The email address for any problems with the download or CD order it to an individual on a domain other than the one the site is hosted on. Perhaps the company is going down so they thought they'd share their product with amateurs like me? At any rate, thanks for the link! The program's developer is a group member as well. He announces new release availability there.
