'[EE]: DC Motor drives'

Hi guys

I am designing a circuit which will control a dc motor. In this
circuit I don't need linear speed control, I intend to use the full
speed or nothing (no pwm needed). The dc motor is 4A for 24V, and I
need to control the direction of rotation.

This circuit currently operates with relays, but I would like to use a
more compact approach, and I was thinking about using one of those
modules which already have internal drive and mosfets. I found some of
these ICs, but most of them don't fit well with my needs (24V x
4A). IR3220 is one example of such device.

Do you have any tips about what IC could I use?

Best regards,
Rodrigo

Such devices are used in automotive applications. Infineon has a full line,
but they seem a bit hard to get ahold of in small quantities.

Here's one from Freescale (nee Motorola) that's rated for 28V and 5A
at 100° Tc despite the scary small size:

Off the shelf from Digikey for a reasonable price.

Hi Spehro

Thanks for the tip. This one seems to fit quite well, I will try to
find a similar one in a DIP package.
