'[EE]: Alpha Pot problem'

We have a piece of equipment which has an Alpha pot in it,
and the pot has gone bad.  Mouser seems to be the primary
distributor for Alpha/Xicon pots, but I can't seem to figure
out what the part number for this particular pot is.

It has six leads, the body is 7.5mm high, 12mm wide, and
14.5mm front to back, with the leads protruding from the
12mm side.  It is vertical PCB mount, with an unthreaded
bushing of less than 2mm in height and the shaft is 18mm
long, of which the last 12mm is flattened to hold a set
screw in place.  It has the code B10k stamped on the end
opposite the terminals.

I'd really hate to resort to ordering random parts and hoping
they match, and the info on the Alpha/Xicon site could be
more helpful.  It appears to be a scanned catalog, which
is not of a high enough resolution to make out the
dimensions.

If anyone knows anything about this, or has an Alpha
catalog lying about that they can flip through, I'd be
quite appreciative if they could share some of that
knowledge with me!

Thanks!
Mike H.

Well, I have a 2004 Alpha catalog that I picked up in Asia,
but frankly the chances of getting a pot to fit a piece of
equipment from a USA-based distributor are pretty close to nil
as there is so much customization and so many base models to
start with. You'd be better off going to the equipment manufacturer
and pleading for them to sell you the exact replacement part.

I use pots just like what you described (including the B10K stamp) in my
products.  Try this link:
