Anyone know off-hand what the AC supply voltage (110V?  220V?) and
frequency is in India?

I've had a couple of inquiries recently, and I'm just trying to determine
what all would be involved in selling products over there.

thanks,
newell

At least at this one site I installed a 120V instrument, the voltage was
230V. One thing I noticed is that power do go out quite a bit.

Robertf

220V @ 50Hz.

Generally, most of the industrial products sold here take in 90V-220V at
50Hz +/- 2.5Hz. The frequency that is most often seen on the power lines is
around 48Hz.

Hi,

Panel Components Corporation lists India
mains at 220-250V 50Hz. They have a handy
table lookup to most of the world at
http://www.panelcomponents.com/first.html
under Guide to Worldwide ...

Regards,
Dave

Hi,
James has pointed out offlist that my post
to Panel Components Corporation's worldwide
power mains lookup table at
http://www.panelcomponents.com/first.html
may lead some to use their *Know the Country*
function which generally does not work.
Use the *Guide to Worldwide ...* link then
scroll down in the left panel to *Search by
Country* and make your selection from there.
This has worked for me.  Thanks for noting
this James.
Best regards,
Dave

Yes it's nominally 230-ish Volts at 50Hz but, from experience, it can vary
quite widely - especially in remote areas. Allow *lots* of regulation
headroom.
