'[EE:] RAMTRON - Did the FM573/574 kick the bucket?'

I was visiting Ramtron's web site (http://www.ramtron.com) recently and noticed
that I cannot find any references to their Nonvolatile Octal Latch/Register
products (FM573, FM574).
[The FM573 and FM574 are innovative circuits that
store inputs like conventional logic families, and then
retain the stored state in the absence of power.]
They were definitely real products since I have the data sheets and some DIP
samples.
Anyone know what happened to those neat products?
Bob Axtell (I know you are a Ramtron user), have you heard?
I'll send them an inquiry e-mail, but I thought I might find out faster from
this list.
Thanks,
Ken Pergola

I didn't talk to them myself, but Rob Heagey said in March of this year:
"I just spoke with an apps engineer from Ramtron, they canceled the product
because of foundry problems and not enough orders were on the books."

Hiya Spehro,
Thanks very much for shedding light on this. It's sad to see an innovative
product fall by the wayside.
I appreciate your reply -- thanks again Spehro.
