Sheesh... that's pretty high. I sell singles (for example) at:
16F877A-I/P (20MHz) $6.68 ea
18F252-I/SP (40MHz) $6.78 ea
16F628-20/P $2.88 ea
the new 12F675-I/P (in stock) $1.68 ea
Shipping in US is usually $1.85 to $2.85 for a handful, to Canada it's
about a buck more.

I'm glad you put that [AD]: tag in you post.
Dr. Peter Anderson has them for $6.95 each. Check out his parts at
http://www.phanderson.com
I've been a pleased customer of Dr. Peter for a couple of years now.

First off its not a rip off. His prices may be high and you can get them
cheaper but because some one is selling something for a higher price than
some one else does not mean they are cheating or ripping any one off.

I don't think I am the cheapest source, but I can surely beat that:
16f877: $9.51 + $7 s/h per order.
(in-circuit flash programmer kit: $17.59, also 16f628, 18f452 etc.

I bought my PICs for $12 each. These were the left overs of my thesis design which I never use or loaded. Well in that case I will have to lower it for $8 each + shipping and handling just to dispose everything

I have a boxfull of PIC16F877. My thesis design is how to handle multiple
slaves that is why i bought that plenty. Since it can handle 255 slaves and
have to replicate it so manage to buy this plenty. But as needful being I
have to regain back the lost of my finances so I have to sell some of it.
Since the lowest price is $6.68 each, I will have to get over with the
price... I will have to sell it for $6.50
And that's it. I just need to dispose everything. Please buy
