'[AD]: Motorola Oncore 8 Channel GPS Units'

Hi,

I needed to buy 5 of these boards for a project. BUT minimum quantity was 20
units.

I now have 12 brand new units for sale at #40 uk pounds each plus postage.
NOTE each GPS Module will come with a Motorola active mag mount aerial.

The unit is an 8-channel GPS module The unit has a serial output that will
give either NMEA or Motorola format (user selectable). To use this unit on a
PC will require a voltage level converter circuit using a MAX232 or similar
IC (it's a very simple circuit but email me for more information). I am
using another one of these units to give me location on a laptop running
Microsoft Autoroute 2001 and am sure that some PDA software uses the same
data.

Sorry to keep things simple I can only post to the UK.

Email me for more information at spam_OUTbob.simpson1TakeThisOuTspambtopenworld.com

Regards,
Bob.

Me too and by the way, unless the price has come down in
recent years, the active antenna is worth as much as
the sale price of the typical "sell-off" receiver.

How much is a pound these days?

Hi,

I bought them as bankrupt stock from a dealer I know that deals in reselling
stock. They cost the original company just over #160 each and the aerial was
on top of that. I was shown the original invoice (and that was for a
quantity of 600!). I am happy just to sell them quickly at what they cost me
and get back to what I should be doing.

Regards,
Bob.

About sixteen ounces.

;-)

I use http://www.xe.com/ for my currency translation.

40 pounds is $62[USD], which is, imho, a steal.  New these things (one
off) cost twice as much.  I was saddened by the 'only in UK' as well,
but I'll bet they run into 'only in USA' much more than we get the reverse.

I got this from KILLspaminfoKILLspamspamsynergy-gps.com

"The M12+ w/backup battery is priced at US$87.00 each. "

This is a one off price, plus its the latest 12 channel 3v board.

These guys, http://www.astrotoo.com , have Motorola GT+ Oncore
units for $30 plus $10 shipping, without antennas. They are pulls
from a truck tracking system(the HF radio part is available for $10
more). They have been auctioning them on eBay too.

Bob,

Do you have any of these left? I'm next door to you in Ireland. BTW how did
you get these to operate with Autoroute? I tried a NEMA module with it last
year but couldn't find out how to install it. It was a uBlox module and I
thought I could set it up as a standard GPS reciever. It worked fine with
Ozi Explorer.
