I have asthma, presumably from 30 years of breathing solder fumes.  I
built a simple fume extractor for my shop with a meaty muffin fan, an
activated carbon filter mounted on what was left of a gooseneck lamp.
I just swing it in place when I'm soldering and get those nasty
fumes out of my face.

DON'T  breathe solder fumes.
